Irish
Rehab Lotteries to Launch on Parlay Bingo through NMLS
Press
Release
Ontario,
Canada - Parlay Entertainment Inc., the world's leading
supplier of Internet bingo solutions, is pleased to announce
that it has completed a software license agreement with
New Media Lottery Services, Inc. who will launch an online
bingo game as an expansion of the Irish Rehab Lotteries'
existing online lottery site.
John
McGuire, Managing Director for Irish Rehab Lotteries has
said of the launch, "It is undoubtedly the most serious
attempt yet in this country to use the Internet to generate
fundraising income for good causes.
"Internet
usage is showing rapid growth in Ireland with 40 per cent
of all Irish homes now having web access and of all Irish
adults, some 38 per cent are now purchasing from home
on the Internet," continued Dr. McGuire. "This
medium is ideal for the distribution of new and fun lottery
products, and we are confident that this channel will
raise significant funds for our training, employment,
health and social care services to people with disabilities
and those who are socially disadvantaged."
"For
many, many years land-based bingo has been tied to charitable
causes," said Andrew Branscombe, Vice President of
Sales for Parlay Entertainment. "We are very pleased
to be working with NMLS and Rehab Lotteries to further
their causes through an online channel. Bingo will provide
an excellent community-based environment to the existing
lottery games, and bingo players can be proud they are
helping out such a good cause."
Isle
of Capri Casinos to celebrate opening of Biloxi, Miss.,
hotel tower
As
Reported by The Sun Herald
BILOXI,
Mississippi - Isle of Capri Casinos Inc., an emerging
global gambling company, will celebrate a multimillion-dollar
investment at its home base next week with a grand opening
ceremony for its new hotel tower in Biloxi.
Although
the Isle already operates casinos in Grand Bahama and
England and is competing for a license in Singapore, Biloxi
is also key to its future growth. The Biloxi hotel is
now the corporation's largest. The Isle's next move is
to replace its existing gambling barge with a casino double
in size.
"The
market we think is strong here," said Tim Hinkley,
the corporation's president and chief operating officer.
"We've got a good footing in the market. We also
realize that you have to have the amenities and the assets
to continue maintaining that loyalty and to attract new
people. You can't just sit still."
The
Coast market will grow because of its beach location,
good reputation and public sector investments, he said.
"We
think one of the keys is the airport and I think, also,
the Coliseum expansion was real positive," Hinkley
said. "I think in the future, down the road, we just
have to keep putting ourselves in a position to draw more
people from around the country. This is one of those spots
that many people are just now starting to notice."
The
hotel expansion and the new casino are, collectively,
a $170 million investment. The Isle will celebrate the
hotel's opening on Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony
and property tours for VIP guests.
