Plans to Reopen Oasis Casino in Jericho - JERICHO, WEST BANK - Casino operators announced Jan. 23 that they have set about renovating Oasis Casino, the casino in Jericho that was badly damaged as a result of gunfire and violence in the area last November.

Plans are to reopen the casino soon, possibly within a week. Palestinian policemen are guarding the casino to keep out Palestinian gunmen who have fired at Israeli forces from the property in the past. When it reopens, the casino cannot anticipate an immediate rush in business.
