BILOXI, MS – Barbara Jane Thornburg of Tennessee won $9.9 million playing a progressive $1 Wheel of Fortune machine at Beau Rivage on Friday, December 27th. Thornburg says she only put about $12 into the machine before she hit one of the largest jackpots in Mississippi history. The Tennessee woman plans to use her winnings to pay off some bills and help the homeless of Memphis.

TUNICA, MS - Iris South, of Memphis, celebrated Elvis Presley's birthday on Jan 8th when she won $1,618,783.07 on an Elvis® video slot machine at the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, MS. South said she'd played $22 in the machine when it hit.

South said Horseshoe has always been her favorite place to play and that she had a feeling she would be lucky yesterday. "Seven is my lucky number and my horoscope predicted good fortune," she commented. South will have no problems spending her winnings; she has seven children and 15 grandchildren and plans on spending lavishly on all of them.
