Contestants Win a Total of $387,500
on ''The Big Spin'' Show
SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--Nov. 8, 2003--The California Lottery's "The Big Spin®"
Show airs every Saturday in 12 television markets statewide. A total of
$387,500 was won by contestants who appeared on the show airing Saturday,
Nov. 8, 2003.
The contestant that
won a chance to spin the prize wheel from the California Gold elimination
round was Ricky Rehberg, from Hayward, who won $120,000! Rehberg, who
bought his lucky ticket at T & M Liquor Store in San Leandro, commented,
"I'm going to pay bills and help my family with my prize money."
The second runner-up from the California Gold round was Katherine Berger,
a payroll processor from Santa Ana who won $5,000.
The "Fantasy
5 Dream Machine" contestants won a total of $170,000 on this week's
show. The first "Fantasy 5 Dream Machine" contestant was Robert
Alvero from Sun Valley who won $85,000. Alvero, who purchased his ticket
at Brand's Mini Mart in Glendale, said, "I plan to help out my family
with my winnings." The second "Fantasy
5 Dream Machine" contestant was Olga Littlewood, a retiree from Huntington
Beach who won $85,000. Littlewood, who bought her ticket at Sterling Liquor
in Westminster, expressed, "I'm going to invest my prize money."
The Spin-Spin-Spin
contestant on this week's show was Robert Barnett, a retiree from Lake
Elsinore who won $75,000. Barnett, who bought his lucky ticket at Big
K in Temecula, said, "I plan to use this money to do home improvements."
Barnett bought a "Big Spin" Scratchers® ticket which revealed
three "SPIN" symbols on one ticket. That lucky ticket entitled
Barnett to a direct trip to the prize wheel.
