Majestic Star Casino Offers
a Chance at Fame and Fortune

Buffington Harbor, IN- The Majestic Star Casino is not only offering its slot players a chance at instant riches, but they're also offering them a chance at stardom.

The Gary, Indiana Casino began its exclusive Wheel of Fortune promotion on January 2nd giving its casino guests a chance to win instant cash and prizes and a trip to Hollywood and an audition on the television game show Wheel of Fortune.

Club Majestic members are eligible to win instant prizes every day throughout the promotion simply by playing slot machines using their Club Majestic card. Club Majestic members are randomly selected to spin a prize wheel to win cash, restaurant certificates or Majestic merchandise. Daily random prize giveaways take place in the casino seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The promotion will end on Monday, February 5th when Majestic sends the grand prize winner on a trip to California for an audition to become a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune show. The grand prize also includes airfare, hotel accommodations and spending money.

"We've had such a great response to this promotion from our club members," said Tom Fayollat, promotions manager. "Our Wheel of Fortune promotion gives us the chance to combine the appeal of one of the most popular TV game shows with great prizes for our guests."

LAUGHLIN, NV - A 50-year-old Corona, CA woman won $6.7 million on a Wheel of Fortune dollar machine at the Edgewater Casino in Laughlin, NV New Year's Eve. Karen Beverly was playing the machine on the advice of her best friend Rosemary Greene. The two women have been friends since childhood and came to Laughlin to ring in the New Year together. Beverly said she plans to split her winnings with her friend. Greene handed Beverly a $100 bill and told her to play a particular machine because she just "had a hunch.'' Beverly had invested $52 on the machine when the three Wheel of Fortune symbols lined up for the MegaJackpot. Beverly owns a pool and spa company in Corona and says she plans on using most of her winnings to help her family, especially her 5-year-old grandson. She does have one special treat in mind for herself -- to buy a PT Cruiser, the hotly sought retro Chrysler.

JACKSON, CA - Janice Arnett (photo right) of Oakdale hit the jackpot on December 19 for a total of $391,666.39 at the Jackson Rancheria Casino. Janice has been playing at the Jackson Rancheria Casino for many years. "I usually play the nickel machines," she says. "My husband is the one who likes to gamble." They had only been playing for about an hour when she sat down at a Wheel of Fortune machine next to Bob and put in one twenty dollar bill. She was down to only seven credits when she was ready to move to another machine. "I was ready to leave. I told Bob, this machine has only given me back $10, I'm leaving." She played one more time, playing the maximum three credits the quarter machine allows - and then it happened. "It was so exciting! Two of the Wheels came up and I was sitting there watching the third one spin around and around. When it hit you could hear me scream from here to Modesto. I got so excited but I wanted someone to tell me it was real. Did I really hit it? I was busy screaming and jumping."
