New Orleans Winner

NEW ORLEANS -- Bally's New Orleans said it was doing what no other casino in New Orleans has done before - loosening nearly every slot in the casino by almost 30 percent - and Ronald Welty, of Lacombe, now has the proof.

Welty won $120,463 on Wednesday, March 24, on a Red, White and Blue slot machine. Welty had only been playing the dollar slot for about 5 minutes when he won the jackpot.

"When I saw the Red, White and Blue slot machine, I decided to play about $40 - I had put in only $20 of that before I won," said Welty, who will use his winnings to pay off some of his house mortgage, although he's sure his children will want an in-ground pool.
