Gambler is thunderstruck - wins
$12 million at casino

Lincoln, California -- A Sacramento man had been feeding dollars into a $1 slot machine at Thunder Valley Casino for about 20 minutes when, around 4:30 p.m., he hit the state's biggest casino jackpot ever - $12 million.

In a phone interview, the man was nearly speechless and asked that neither he nor his employer be identified, but he said he was eager to get his wife on the phone to tell her the good news.

"He's kind of in shock," said Scott Garawitz, the casino's general manager.

He described the winner as "just kind of your average guy" in his 30s who looked "deadpan stunned" after becoming the state's biggest jackpot millionaire.
