Unknown Amateur Staves Off The Pros Taking Home $1.5 Million In Winnings At World Poker Finals (Wpt) Held At Foxwoods Resort Casino
Press Release

MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut - In his World Poker Finals (WPT) "Final Table" debut November 17th at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT, Tuan Le, 26, didn't fold under pressure. Le, a resident of Los Angeles, has come a long way from his tournament winnings of close to $20,000 as he took home a cool $1.5 million.

Looking more like a recent college graduate than a seasoned poker player, Le secured the pot after five intense hours of No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em in front a live audience as the Travel Channel cameras rolled, catching all of the action. Foxwoods World Poker Finals event will air on the Travel Channel in 2005.

"I can't believe I finally did it," said Le. "It just goes to show if you stick with it, it can pay off in the end."

Foxwoods Resort Casino was equally excited with the outcome of the tournament which attracted a record 674 entrants and was the largest regular season event in its history.

"We were thrilled to host the World Poker Tour "Final Table" at Foxwoods," said Kathy Raymond, Director of Poker Operations at Foxwoods Resort Casino. "The energy and intensity of this tournament was unparalleled and it's always exciting to see a new face emerge onto the poker scene to take home a big pot."
