Elvis slot machine awards $949,906
at Horseshoe

TUNICA
RESORTS - Maryagnes M. now has almost one million more reasons to
love Elvis and the Horseshoe Casino. After playing about $20 on the Elvis
quarter progressive slot, Maryagnes hit the MegaJackpots progressive prize
of $949,906 on Dec. 20.
The 42-year-old
Maryagnes, a statistician in Arkansas., had come to the Horseshoe with
her husband to play her favorite slot machine at the casino.
"I
was just thinking, 'I got two Elvis symbols, why can't I get three?',"
said the excited winner. "I feel like a million dollars!"
She was
very excited about the jackpot. "I finally got a bigger jackpot than
my husband. We always compete to see who wins more," said Maryagnes.
"Guess I won this time."
"I
don't know if this will change my life or how," she continued. "I
do know that I will have a story to tell for the rest of my life. Elvis
gave me almost one million dollars."
Maryagnes
plans on purchasing a new truck with her winnings and will save the rest
for retirement.
She was
the 15th MegaJackpots winner in Mississippi last year, the second in six
days, bringing the state's total prize winnings to more than $31 million
for 2004. The Elvis slot machine is a MegaJackpots Instant Winners game.
The jackpot is paid after a player plays the maximum bet (75-cents) and
lines up all three winning symbols on the appropriate pay line. After
the jackpot is verified, the Elvis meter is reset at $100,000. Elvis is
one of 16 Mississippi MegaJackpots systems operated by IGT. All IGT MegaJackpots
awards are paid in annual installments upon verification, except MegaJackpots
Instant Winners jackpots and Rapid Riches MegaJackpots awards, which are
paid in their entirety upon verification.
