Las Vegas Area Woman Wins Aristocrat's Millioni$er(R) $1 Million Jackpot Twice in Less Than a Year

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - A Las Vegas area grandmother got an early Mother's Day present Thursday night, May 5 when she won the $1 million jackpot on Aristocrat Technologies' Millioni$er Hyperlink® penny slot games for the second time in less than a year. She was playing at the Railroad Pass Hotel and Casino in Henderson, Nevada between Boulder City and Las Vegas.
The lucky winner, Boulder city resident Jo Ann Argyris, had invested about $35 after 10 minutes of game play when she won the $1 million Grand Jackpot on Aristocrat Technologies' Millioni$er four-level mystery progressive penny slot games.
She said that Aristocrat's Millioni$er penny slots became her favorite game after she won Millioni$er's $1 million top prize on June 26, 2004 at Sunset Station Hotel & Casino in Henderson.
"Last year I told everyone that I was going to win again, and they didn't believe me," said Argyris, who plans to invest most of her winnings, buy a new car, and take her family on a Hawaiian vacation. Last year she paid off her home mortgage, did extensive home remodeling, and took her family on a Mexican Riviera cruise.
The self-employed, single Argyris said she visits Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino often because it is close to home and the staff is friendly. Last night she and her daughter stopped in and planned to spend only 45 minutes at the casino before heading home to watch Argyris' favorite TV show.
"I wanted to get home to watch CSI and was getting ready to cash out when the Millioni$er popped up again," Argyris said. "The Grand Jackpot was the eighth jackpot that I had hit and I didn't even realize I'd won the million until my daughter told me. I said 'no' and then I looked at the machine, said 'oh my goodness,' and put my head into my lap and cried!"
Argyris said that she plays Millioni$er games every time she goes out. "It is my favorite game, and I have gotten a lot of other people to play it too," she said. "I love the thrill of winning the Minor jackpot, waiting for it to pop up on the screen, and see what I'm going to win."
