LAS VEGAS, NV - A spur of the moment Las Vegas vacation has made millionaires of a Texas couple late afternoon February 18. MJ Morgan and his wife, Mamie, were playing Wheel of Fortune Dollars at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino when MJ's machine lined up a $3,078,439 MegaJackpot. The couple lives in Amarillo and arrived in Las Vegas Sunday morning. On an earlier trip in December, MJ had won $500 at another machine in the same bank of Wheel of Fortune machines and was playing with hopes of doing it again. When the jackpot hit, MJ yelled to Mamie that he had won $2,000. Another player corrected him, saying that he had won $41,000. It took a third person to explain that he had won the $3 million progressive. They said that they'll share their good fortune with their three children and three grandchildren as well as tithing to their church. As for their plans, Mamie says that now she'll be able to realize a life-long dream of visiting Australia. PALM SPRINGS, CA - The first Wheel of Fortune MegaJackpot(TM) to hit at the Spa Hotel & Casino made one local resident, Zipora Wolfingher, $218,612 richer. The 66-year-old housewife won the jackpot just before the stroke of midnight on February 18. Wolfingher, an avid gambler, travels to the Spa Hotel & Casino each weekend from Los Angeles with her husband Shalom. The Wolfinghers are owners of a thriving toy business in Los Angeles and live part-time in Palm Springs. Wolfingher's win on Sunday marks the first major jackpot the couple has ever won. Wolfingher struck it rich after investing $100 in the slot machine. She cried out when the Wheel of Fortune quarters jackpot hit late that evening. Wolfingher said that she and her husband will stick with their lucky streak and continue gambling on the Wheel of Fortune slot machines. SANTA YNEZ, CA -The second Wheel of Fortune MegaJackpot(TM) at Santa Ynez's Chumash Casino in a week made one Santa Barbara resident, Genoeva Andrade, more than $200,000 richer February 20. The lucky 48-year-old Andrade will now finally be able to realize the lifelong dream of owning her own home. Out for some fun with friends, Andrade went to Chumash because an acquaintance recently won a jackpot there. Andrade says winning was the only thing on her mind as she played Wheel of Fortune quarters on Saturday. She played about $150 on the first slot machine available, Wheel of Fortune. When the machine's winning symbols lined-up, she cried out with exuberance. DETROIT, MI - A Detroit resident drives away with the top prize in MotorCity Casino's "Race to Riches'' promotion: a 1956 Lincoln Continental and $20,000 in cash February 21. Ralph from Detroit, MI, was randomly selected by the casino's slot bonusing system while he was playing a nickel Monopoly machine on Valentine's Day. Ralph was the special winner of the '56 Lincoln prize in addition to the twenty other winners randomly selected on Valentine's Day in the "Race to Riches'' promotion.
