Plans Expansion in Florida Market

FLORIDA
-- "Isle of Capri Casinos will expand its gaming
offerings in southeast Florida with a $140 million slots
parlor at Pompano Park Harness Track.
"The
project will add 1,500 slot machines to the Pompano Park
Harness Track, the only track in the Isle of Capri Casinos'
family. The creation of a Racino combination racetrack/casino
also includes four restaurants on the 331-acre
property, which already houses a poker room. Isle of Capri
acquired the track in 1995.
"...At
the heart of the Racino will be a multi-story bar offering
high-action imagery and audio on multiple video displays.
The project, which is expected to be completed in the
next seven to nine months, also will include new racetrack
amenities such as a high-tech Winner's Circle..."

County authorized to add slot machines after Gov. Jeb
Bush signed the slot machine bill into law in January..."
Meadows
Plans $450 Million Expansion

PITTSBURGH,
Pennsylvania "Daily attendance at The
Meadows harness-racing track could grow 10 times larger
after its prospective buyers add 3,000 slot machines and
build a 250,000-square-foot entertainment complex, backers
said Wednesday.
"Visitors
to the Washington County racino -- a race track with a
casino -- could top 4,200 people a day by 2010, said Bill
Paulos, partner in Las Vegas-based Millennium Gaming,
which plans to buy the facility. That's up from an average
of 355 people now.
"Visitors
walking into the permanent grandstand and casino would
see the track behind banks of slots machines, according
to plans presented yesterday to the state Gaming Control
Board.
"The
$450 million building would include tiered buffet dining
for 700 people overlooking the track, a wine bar, steak
house, theater and conference center. From one spot in
the casino, players could overlook a new paddock where
horses would be groomed for racing.
"Planners
expect to break ground next month on a temporary casino
that could open with slots on New Year's Eve. It would
sit in The Meadows parking lot and have 1,500 slot machines
