Casino Rumors Surround Trump Philadelphia Tower
As Reported by Commercial Property News

PENNSYLVANIA – "Donald Trump has unveiled plans to build a $300 million Trump Tower in Philadelphia, in a former industrial area that has recently become the site of several significant residential developments.

"The 45-story luxury condominium building will house 263 condos priced between $700,000 and $3.5 million.

"'The site is also near where some casinos may eventually locate,' explained Jonathan Stavin, first vice president with CB Richard Ellis Inc. who specializes in multi-housing investments.

"'A school of thought within the real estate community here feels that the decision to build this tower at this time is closely related to his attempt to get a casino license.'…"

As reported by the QC Times

FLORIDA -- "Isle of Capri Casinos will expand its gaming offerings in southeast Florida with a $140 million slots parlor at Pompano Park Harness Track.

"The project will add 1,500 slot machines to the Pompano Park Harness Track, the only track in the Isle of Capri Casinos' family. The creation of a Racino — combination racetrack/casino — also includes four restaurants on the 331-acre property, which already houses a poker room. Isle of Capri acquired the track in 1995.

"...At the heart of the Racino will be a multi-story bar offering high-action imagery and audio on multiple video displays. The project, which is expected to be completed in the next seven to nine months, also will include new racetrack amenities such as a high-tech Winner's Circle..."

Meadows Plans $450 Million Expansion
As reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Tribune

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania – "Daily attendance at The Meadows harness-racing track could grow 10 times larger after its prospective buyers add 3,000 slot machines and build a 250,000-square-foot entertainment complex, backers said Wednesday.

"Visitors to the Washington County racino -- a race track with a casino -- could top 4,200 people a day by 2010, said Bill Paulos, partner in Las Vegas-based Millennium Gaming, which plans to buy the facility. That's up from an average of 355 people now.

"Visitors walking into the permanent grandstand and casino would see the track behind banks of slots machines, according to plans presented yesterday to the state Gaming Control Board.

"The $450 million building would include tiered buffet dining for 700 people overlooking the track, a wine bar, steak house, theater and conference center. From one spot in the casino, players could overlook a new paddock where horses would be groomed for racing.

"Planners expect to break ground next month on a temporary casino that could open with slots on New Year's Eve. It would sit in The Meadows parking lot and have 1,500 slot machines…"
