Man hits $1 million slot jackpot
Press Release

LINCOLN, Calif.–
Dennis Shields wanted to show his mother, visiting from Tennessee, just how classy California casinos are. During their December 14 visit to Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, chosen by Shields for its Vegas-like appeal, Shields was also able to show his mother how to become an instant millionaire.

Shields was playing the $5 Wheel of Fortune ® machine when he hit the jackpot, making him $1,004,038 richer. He had invested $180 when lady luck struck.

"Once the three logos lined up, I was in shock, but nothing was happening and the machine was silent," said Shields. "Once the attendant arrived, I realized I'd won a million dollars. I tried to call my wife, who was in total disbelief, but she finally came over to see what I'd won."

Shields, a 43 year-old real estate agent, plans to continue working at his current job.

"On behalf of the Casino team members, a huge 'congratulations' to Mr. Shields," said Thunder Valley Casino General Manager Scott Garawitz. "This is just another great example of all the exciting possibilities for our patrons here at Thunder Valley."

Stephen Lynch

The Borgota: Growing up in the woods of Northern Michigan, Stephen Lynch always had music in his life. But it wasn’t until he saw the movie “This is Spinal Tap” that he found his direction – to be a comedic singer songwriter.

Lynch moved to New York City in 1996 to put his music to the test. Disarming audiences with his sweet-voice and blindsiding them with his lyrics, Stephen found welcoming fans at the city’s comedy clubs and downtown alternative comedy venues. He became a regular on radio shows such as “Opie and Anthony” and over the next couple of years began touring the country’s nightclub and college circuit building a loyal fan base.

Stephen is currently starring in the new Broadway musical, “The Wedding Singer” for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, a Drama League Award nomination for Distinguished Performance and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical. “The Wedding Singer” is based on the 1998 Adam Sandler movie of the same name. Stephen plays the Sandler role of Robbie Hart.
