Mohegan Sun installs half-cent slots
Press Release

It's the latest trend in slot machines and only Mohegan Sun has it. The Northeast's premier entertainment destination is pleased to announce the installation of 20 half-cent slot machines in its Casino of the Earth and Casino of the Sky, and plans to install an additional 15 to 20 half-cent machines over the next two to three weeks. This makes Mohegan Sun the only destination in the United States to offer this new technology.

This latest offering, which allows customers to wager half a cent instead of the traditional quarter, dollar or even penny, is just another way Mohegan Sun is revolutionizing the gaming industry. Back in February, Mohegan Sun announced that starting May 1st, all of its 6,200 current slot machines will be equipped with the state of the art ticket-in, ticket-out system, making for a coin free gaming environment. This innovation will allow guests to experience the ease of playing with paper tickets instead of coins or tokens.

Under a current gaming compact with the State of Connecticut, Mohegan Sun gives the State 25-percent of the monthly slot revenue. After the completion of its Project Horizon expansion in 2010, Mohegan Sun will be home to over 7,600 slot machines.

Project Horizon is a $740 million expansion at Mohegan Sun that features a new 1,000 room hotel with a unique House of Blues experience, 115,000 square feet of new retail and restaurant space and the new 64,000 square-foot Casino of the Wind.
