Gold Strike Casino Resort
Is Giving Away Over $10,000
Every Day In June

TUNICA, MS - It's one of the largest cash giveaways to hit the Mid-South in years. Gold Strike Casino Resort presents the $10,000 A Day Cash Giveaway starting Friday, June 1 through Saturday, June 30. Guests can enter to win daily, and at 8:00 p.m. each night, one name will be drawn for the $10,000 grand prize, another name for $1,000, and fifteen more names for $100 in cash. Unlike many cash promotions, the winners do not have to be present to win.

Every winner has 72 hours from the night their name is called to claim his/her prize, in-person, at the Main Casino Cage. All winners' 24 Karat Player card numbers will be posted near the $10,000 A Day Giveaway Kiosk - near the 24 Karat Booth. If the cash prizes are not claimed waiting the 72-hour period, the entire amount will roll over into that day's current $10,000 drawing making the cash prize even larger.

Every day is a new contest, which means guests have a new chance to win everyday. The drawing barrel will be emptied after each drawing. Anyone who has a 24 Karat Player's Card can receive one free ticket per day and additional entries can be earned through slot play. Ameristar Casinos Breaks Ground for New Casino-Entertainment Facility - LAS VEGAS, NV - Ameristar Casinos, Inc. announced on May 21 the groundbreaking of its new casino-entertainment facility at St. Charles, Missouri.

As initially designed, only a portion of the casino would be completed, with approximately 2,400 slot machines and 60 table games in a total of 70,000 square feet of gaming space, approximately 25,000 more square feet of casino space than the current facility.

Operations at St. Charles Casino are not expected to be disrupted by the construction of the new facility.

Ameristar expects to complete construction and open the new facility in mid-2002.

Bellagio and Mirage Ban Poker-Room Smoking - LAS VEGAS, NV -The Bellagio and Mirage casinos will ban smoking in their poker rooms starting Friday, June 1. Casino executives say that a trial smoking ban proved "overwhelmingly positive." Robert Baldwin, president and CEO of Mirage Properties, says the decision was made largely for players from California who are accustomed to smoke-free environments. Executives at newer casinos claim that with higher ceilings and better air-circulation systems, there are fewer complaints about smoking in slot machine areas. But poker players spend hours in rooms where even a few smokers can prove to be irritating.
