Foxwoods Introduces
Slot 360

MASHANTUCKET, CT - Foxwoods Resort Casino unveiled an exciting new slots attraction on June 30 in the Great Cedar Casino near the Fox Theater - Slots 360.

Slots 360 has 267 new slot machines configured in concentric circles around an interactive water feature. At the core of the attraction are 57 slot machines linked to sound, laser light and water special effects that make it a truly unique gaming experience.

The additional slot machines bring the total in operation at Foxwoods to 6,412, more than at any other single casino in the world.

"Our new Slots 360 is a 'must-see' attraction and features more excitement, jackpots and fun than can be found in Las Vegas or Atlantic City,'' said Tony Celona, vice president of Slot Operations. "Many of the games are only available at Foxwoods.''

The 8,000 square foot space has a ceiling 30 feet high. In the center of the ceiling is a 16'diameter round water-curtain that falls 22' into a basin on a platform 8 feet high that contains numerous fountain effects. The feature uses approximately 8,000 gallons of water for its various displays.

In the very center, a large water cannon erupts and shoots a gush of water to the ceiling. If the ceiling was not there, the cannon could shoot as high as 90 feet. There are five smaller water cannons ringing the center, five "champagne'' fountain jets, and 40 fountain jets capable of sending either "tightropes'' or "B-Bs'' of water. Forty multicolor lights illuminate the water.

Video and multi-color spectrum laser images are projected onto the water curtain from inside the ring. The lasers also will operate when there is no waterfall, similar to a planetarium laser light show, with a fog machine producing a mist for the laser to use as a medium.

Outside the center platform, there is an intermediate ring of 25 slot machines. In an outer circle are 32 machines, in four banks of eight machines. These machines line a low wall containing leapfrog fountains that shoot slugs of water around the room, similar to fountains at Epcot Center in Florida.

Throughout the day, a jackpot on any of the 57 machines will produce a special effects show with the floor to ceiling water curtain, laser lights projection and incredible audio tracks to announce the winning event.

Three jackpot-shows are programmed for low-level, medium-level and high-level jackpots. In addition, there is an hourly show that occurs at the top of every hour. The state-of-the-art sound system has 48 speakers and subwoofers.

In addition to the fifty-seven linked machines, the remaining 210 machines in the new Slots 360 attraction are a mix of games that include popular models most requested by guests of Foxwoods.

Foxwoods Resort Casino features over 6,400 slot machines and 350 table games. The resort is easily reached via Interstates 95 and 395 and is a short distance from T. F. Green Airport serving Providence, R.I. and Bradley International Airport serving Hartford, CT.

Ameristar Casino Kansas City
Consolidates Gaming Halls

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City received approval from the Missouri Gaming Commission on June 27 to consolidate its two casinos into a single casino.

By removing the wall between the two existing casinos, Ameristar hopes to take advantage of the synergies and additional excitement created by having a single casino that is larger and more spacious than each of the two existing casinos. The consolidation will provide additional conveniences to Ameristar's guests, allowing them to walk throughout the entire combined casino without having to exit one casino and re-enter the other as in the property's current configuration.

Prior to the enactment of open boarding in 2000, patrons could only enter a casino during the first 45 minutes of each 2-hour cruise. Thus, operating two casinos allowed guests to board one of the casinos during 45 minutes of each hour. With the enactment of open boarding, operating two separate casinos no longer provides any additional convenience to guests because guests can enter either casino at any time.

The transition to one casino was facilitated by open boarding rules enacted last year and will be relatively seamless with minimal construction disruption at the property. The single casino configuration is expected to be complete by the end of September 2001.

In connection with seeking the approval of the casino consolidation, Ameristar has committed to spend at least $20 million to construct a 2,200-space parking garage at Ameristar Kansas City. Ameristar has committed to commence construction on the parking facility not later than June 27, 2003.
