PRIOR LAKE, MN - Dennis Michael Kenyon of Cottage Grove, MN, spent about seven hours July 2 and July 3 feeding a $2 slot machine walked away with a check for $2.8 million after hitting the biggest casino jackpot in Minnesota. 56-years Kenyon won $2,847,899 playing Wild Cherry Progressive slot machine at Mystic Lake Casino on July 3. Kenyon started playing at 11pm on Monday, July 2, and at 6am on Tuesday, July 3 he struck the jackpot when three cherries lined up on his screen. He put about $200 into the machine and had $46 left when he won. "I think when somebody wins something like this, there's divine intervention," he said. After paying $1.3 million in federal and state taxes, the former administrator and a father of four from Shakopee in Minnesota can expect to walk away with about $1.5 million. Kenyon plans to open a small computer-repair shop with his winning. |
