Turning Stone Casino Expands - New York, NY - The new clubhouse and gaming floor expansion now under construction will help the Turning Stone Casino Resort draw more people for more reasons, General Manager Craig Clark said Monday. The clubhouse, scheduled to open in May, will offer a 400-seat banquet hall for weddings and other events. The new gaming floor will make room for 400 to 500 more video machines and live entertainment. The expansion also includes an eight-bay bus garage, which will accommodate the growing number of buses bringing patrons to the casino, Clark said.

Las Vegas Exploring Internet Gambling Opportunities - LAS VEGAS - On January 2, Las Vegas City Council members voted 6-1 to explore the issue of using the city�s name and seal to endorse Internet gambling sites in exchange for a share of the profits. Las Vegas� city manager and city attorney will now take a month to explore whether such a venture into Internet gambling would be legal and beneficial to Nevada. Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman has conducted meetings with at least two companies interested in a partnership with the city, and has said it is "imperative to explore the potential of raising billions of dollars" and the city �would be derelict not to explore it." Councilwoman Lynette Boggs McDonald was the only dissenting vote at the meeting. She has argued, "The bottom-line principle for me is that this is illegal in the U. S., and I personally will not be party to directing our staff to pursue illegal activities.�
