First Annual 'River Run' Motorcycle Extravaganza

TUNICA, MS - Sam's Town will host the first annual Sam's Town River Run - a motorcycle festival of unique proportions -- during the first weekend in May. The event will include an American V-Twin motorcycle & accessory manufacturers' show on the Sam's Town grounds, Thursday, May 2 through Sunday, May 5.

Major manufacturers of traditional and custom American V-Twins will be on hand with their elaborate transporter, new road and race models, parts & accessories and apparel boutiques. Celebrity appearances by the gorgeous Dahm Triplets and other Playboy Playmates will complement the powerful road machines. This is expected to be the largest bike event in the Mid-South.

Famous musician, actor and philanthropist Mickey Jones will be the celebrity host for the first annual Sam's Town River Run. You'll probably recognize Mickey as Peter Bilker, one of the K&B boys on "Home Improvement.'' He's worked in feature films such as "Sling Blade,'' "Tin Cup,'' "Drop Zone,'' "Total Recall'' and more. In his early career, Mickey was Bob Dylan's drummer and for the past several years, he's played the big biker on the "Breath Savers'' TV commercial.

Thursday's activities include a charity golf tournament at Sam's Town's River Bend Links, a 6,900-yard Scottish links-style course nestled in a bend of the Mississippi River. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the local chapter of the Boy's & Girl's Club.

Enjoy live bands daily plus special headliner entertainment in the River Palace Entertainment Center. Friday night, May 3, it's Creedence Clearwater Revisited. Other headliners will be announced.

Activities also include live taping of the Steel Dreams television show, and scheduled "Poker Runs,'' where enthusiasts will ride through the colorful Mississippi Delta country in search of clues to collect playing cards and the perfect poker hand.

Special two, three and four night hotel packages are available for the Sam's Town River Run. Just call 800/456-0711 and ask for the "River Run'' package. There will also be covered, secured parking for motorcycles and a deluxe, full-service park for RVs.
