LAS VEGAS - Allan Van Walleghem of Alberta, Canada hit a $2.4 million jackpot on a Wheel of Fortune dollar machine at the Flamingo Las Vegas on March 20.

Walleghem, a 53-year-old equipment manager, arrived in Las Vegas for a convention a bit later than expected because of weather. After a late dinner, he decided to play a little before hitting the sack. He had only invested $10 in the slot machine when he won the MegaJackpots progressive jackpot.

He called his wife at home to tell her that he had won $2,400 on the Wheel of Fortune machine, but a few minutes later, he had to call her back to say he had won a little more. His actual jackpot was $2,423,302.85!

Walleghem says his wife will decide how to spend the winnings.
