Harrah's
Casinos Capture
Record 413 Awards
LAS VEGAS -
For the third running year, Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. dominated
Casino Player's "Best of Gaming" Awards, receiving 219
first-place honors and 413 total awards in the magazine's annual
readers poll.
The showing
topped Harrah's record-breaking performance in 2001 by a wide margin.
The company's first-place honors rose 52 percent from last year,
while total awards shot up 64 percent over 2001.
"In recent
months, our competitors have been trying to imitate the success
of Total Rewards," said Gary Loveman, Harrah's President and
Chief Operating Officer. "This year's results show they have
a lot of catching up to do.
Even in Las
Vegas, a market saturated by competing slot cards, Total Rewards
remains the player's favorite.
"There
is more to creating a great players card than simply linking casinos
together," Loveman said. "You must understand each of
your customers better than your competitors do, and provide them
with the unique benefits that
mean the most
to each individual. This is the true power of Total Rewards, and
it is the reason this program is a defining strategy for our company."
Casino Player
readers also lauded the company's customer service, as 11 of the
company's properties captured at least one first-place award in
a service category. Particularly strong customer service showings
were made by Harrah's Atlantic City and Harrah's Las Vegas, which
won six first-place service awards each, including honors for Best
Overall Service.
Harrah's Entertainment's
website, www.harrahs.com,
was also voted the Best Casino Website by the magazine's readers.
"Amid the hundreds of gambling websites, finding a good one
can be a chore, but our readers got the job done well when they
voted Harrahs.com as the best," the magazine wrote. "This
colorful site, complete with its big band swing
sound playing in the background, captures the excitement of casino
gambling without going overboard on the bells and whistles. "Of
course, looking good is only half the battle on the Web. Content,
after all, is king, and Harrahs.com has plenty of it," the
magazine said.
