Pokerproducts.com
helps with "Thursday Night Poker Game"
Amongst
the thousands of websites devoted to gambling you always come across
that one site that's a bit out of the mainstream, but right on target.
Pokerproducts.com is one of those sites.
POKERproducts.com
is an international supplier of home gaming products committed to
the "Thursday Night Poker Game". But, it's just not another e-commerce
site specializing in poker products.
Not only can
one purchase the standard poker equipment and get the official ruling
on hand rankings but, POKERproducts.com goes that one step further
by helping novice poker players organize weekly games. They also
offer a bulletin board by state of regular games that are seeking
players to join them.
Also, they go
that extra step in helping customers plan and purchase items for
their weekly game. Instead of just offering a catalogue of items
one can purchase POKERproducts.com also gives hints on what to purchase
depending upon how many players one is planning to host.
POKERproducts.com
started in 1998 as the brainchild of Kentucky resident, Tom Stratton.
"I am an avid poker player. My wife helped me start the company
in 1998 after a few issues with our weekly poker game. We play a
small, simple, low-stakes game. One night after the game I cashed
in more in poker chips than I started with. I knew then it was time
to find poker chips that were not the same as what you can buy at
the local super-center.
"First, I found
retailers who wanted huge prices for good poker chips, far more
than the casual poker player would want to pay. Secondly, I wanted
a new poker table and I spent weeks trying to find one. Every one
wanted three times what I thought the tables were worth. Most everyone
had a "Take it or leave it" attitude. They acted like they were
doing me a favor by taking my money," said Stratton.
For the next
several months POKERproducts.com searched for exporters, importers,
manufacturers and distributors of a variety of gaming items. Finally
they developed a product line that was very affordable for the home
poker game player. To insure quick delivery they set up distribution
outlets on the East and West coast.
"We treat our
customers just like we were buying the items," said Stratton. "When
I order from the Internet or by phone, I hang the phone up and race
to the front door and start looking for the package. I know what
it's like to get anxious after I order something. We treat our customers
the same way. We usually process our orders immediately, and ship
them within a few hours after the order is received. Our best selling
poker table is usually shipped within three days. Since we sell
so many of our #48 table we keep production on going on this table.
Others will usually fall in the 3-5 day processing range. Free shipping
on most of our poker tables sold is a big plus for our customers,"
Stratton said.

$86
Million Expansion
Adds New Face to Sam's Town
LAS VEGAS, NV
- The $86 million expansion of Boyd Gaming Corporation's neighborhood
hotel-casino along east Flamingo Road and Boulder Highway brings
new gaming and entertainment excitement to Sam's
Town Hotel & Gambling Hall.
The expansion
includes a recently opened 1,100 events center, an 18-screen theater
complex, a rotisserie buffet and a child care center. The casino
floor has been expanded by 4,600 square feet.
Executives say
these types of amenities nowadays are a necessity to compete in
the Boulder Strip area. "Our competition on the Boulder Strip has
already chosen this path of expanded entertainment", says Jaclyn
Ferraro, Sam's Town director of entertainment.
Sam's Town executives
anticipate the property's recently opened $10 million events center
will be a driving force in expanding the customer base of its 21-year-old
Boulder Strip property.
Boyd Gaming
President Don Snyder said Sam's Town's Century 18 Theater aims to
be more than just a movie theater. The two-story movie complex will
try to be a trendy hangout for latte-sipping moviegoers. While waiting
for a show to start, customers at Caf Cinema will be able to nurse
cappuccinos on its second-floor balcony overlooking the lobby area.
The expanded
casino floor allows space for 525 more slot and video poker machines,
bringing its total to more than 3,400 machines. Table games are
remaining at 52, offer a standard mix of games including Pai Gow
poker, three-card poker, Caribbean Stud poker and single- and double-deck
blackjack. Betting limits are not expected to increase.
Sam's
Town Hotel & Gambling Hall is owned and operated by Boyd Gambling
Corporation.
