LAS VEGAS
- Boyd Gaming Corporation's Sam's
Town Hotel & Gambling Hall will play host to an action
packed weekend as the exciting world of NASCAR returns to Las
Vegas in early spring.
The action-packed
weekend includes the 5th annual NASCAR Drivers Auction with
a concert by up-and-coming country music star Chris Chitsey
and a special appearance by the USAF Thunderbirds aerial demonstration
team. The Drivers Auction on Thursday, February 27 is the single
largest fund-raiser for the Las Vegas chapter of Speedway Children's
Charities.
The Drivers
Auction will once again be held at Sam's Town Live!, the 1100-seat
entertainment complex at the Sam's
Town Hotel & Gambling Hall. Many of the NASCAR Winston
Cup and Busch Series drivers are again expected to participate
in the charity event, which includes both a live and silent
auction. Last year, more than 20 Winston Cup and Busch Series
drivers personally appeared and participated in this unique
event, raising more than $89,000 for area children.
This event
features a rare opportunity for fans to bid for a chance to
meet their favorite Winston Cup drivers during the driver introductions.
The winning bidder will then ride along with the drivers in
an open convertible during the pre-race parade lap prior to
the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 on Sunday, March 2. Winning bidders
on Busch Series competitors will have the opportunity to meet
their drivers in the pit area prior to the start of the Sam's
Town 300 on Saturday, March 1.
