California Magic Wide Area Progressive
Arrives in California Casino

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Atronic, innovate producer of video slot machines, announced on July 21st its first installs of the California (R) Wide Area Progressive (WAP) link in Valley View Casino with rapid installations planned for additional California casinos.

California, already considered a place filled with entertainment and excitement, can look for more fun with the California Magic games. California Magic features a unique multi-level progressive designed exclusively for California casinos and players -- "California Jackpots for California Players." Exciting games, innovative merchandising packages and jackpots designed to hit frequently further differentiate the link.

"California is the most dynamic tribal market in the United States, and therefore a natural place for Atronic's successful MAGIC WAP. We are confident that California Magic will be rewarding for both California casinos and players, and look forward to the additional installs throughout California," said Joe Bailo, Chief Sales Officer o Atronic Americas. Atronic has also recently launched MAGIC WAPs in New Mexico and Michigan.

California Magic consists of nickel video slots on Atronic's Towerline (TM) platform, and features two progressive jackpots, the "Jackpot" which starts at $50,000 and the "Magic Jackpot" which starts at $100,000. The first game on the California (R) link will be Sphinx Magic (TM). Sphinx Magic, a proven success in Arizona and other markets, features a stunning display, a high hit frequency, and the interactive Magic Bonus Card feature, supplemented by the globally successful Sphinx brand. Atronic's first install at Valley View Casino will be quickly followed by an install at Trump 29 Casino. Players can expect further installs throughout the summer.

Atlantic City Salutes the 100th Anniversary of
Powered Flight Air Show

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced on July 17th it will sponsor a special air show in cooperation with the city of Atlantic City and the 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard on Wednesday, August 27, 2003. The entire air show, including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, will take place in front of the famed Atlantic City Boardwalk. Free to the public, the air show commemorates the 100th anniversary of powered flight.

"Borgata is pleased to participant in the centennial celebration of powered flight," said Larry Mullin, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. "To be able to create this amazing event above the world-renowned Atlantic City Boardwalk, and promote the newest addition to the Boyd Gaming family of properties - Borgata - is an achievement in and of itself."

The famed U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2003, will put on a demonstration of speed and precision in their signature F-16 Fighting Falcons, executing creative formation maneuvers, wing tip to wing tip, above the Boardwalk. For vintage war bird buffs, one of WWII's premier fighters, the heralded P-51 Mustang, will demo its superior fighting capabilities.

Additional entertainment will include:

  • Fly-bys orchestrated by the 177th Fighter Wing of the New Jersey
  • National Guard and 108th Air Refueling Wing
  • U.S. Air Force F-15 Eagle East Coast Demonstration Team
  • U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon East Coast Demonstration Team
  • U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II East Coast Demonstration Team
  • U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight
  • U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet West Coast Demonstration Team
  • U.S. Coast Guard off-shore search and rescue demonstration

The Airshow will feature renowned airshow announcer Gordon Bowman-Jones and will be conducted by the 177th Fighter Wing with assistance from David Schultz Airshows, LLC.

"Celebrating the 100th anniversary of powered flight, the men and women of the 177th Fighter Wing want to express their appreciation for the outstanding support the surrounding communities have shown since our mobilization in support of Operation NOBLE EAGLE and the global war on terrorism," said Colonel Michael Cosby, Commander of the 177th Fighter Wing. "What better way to show that appreciation then to host a free air show over the beautiful beaches of Atlantic City."

"'Atlantic City Salutes the 100th Anniversary of Powered Flight' is the first major aviation show staged in Atlantic City in more than a decade and the first along the Boardwalk in well over 50 years," said Mayor Lorenzo Langford. "We welcome back an air show of this magnitude to the shores of Atlantic City. This is an event that is unparalleled in Atlantic City and promises to become a major draw for future visitors."

The air show, which is free to the public, begins at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27th and concludes at 3:00 p.m.

Borgata, a $1 billion joint venture with Boyd Gaming Corporation and MGM MIRAGE, is located at Renaissance Pointe in Atlantic City, NJ. The property features 2,002 guest rooms and suites, 125,000 square feet of gaming, 11 retail shops, a European spa, 70,000 square feet of event space and parking for 7,100 cars.
