Mohegan Sun Accepting Reservations For Its New Hotel

UNCASVILLE, CT - In anticipation of opening its luxury 34-story, 1,200-room hotel in mid-April, Mohegan Sun, a premier entertainment, gaming and meeting destination on the East Coast, is now taking reservations. The hotel's opening will mark the completion of Mohegan Sun's $1.1 billion "Project Sunburst'' expansion, the largest private development on the East Coast.

Designed by the Atlanta-based interior design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates, the guestrooms and suites were created with the needs of both business and leisure travelers in mind. The elegantly appointed rooms will feature deluxe amenities, including three, two-line telephones with dataports and voice mail; full-size working desk area with ergonomic chair; oversized lounging chair with ottoman; in-room refreshment and entertainment center, including web and e-mail access, video in-room dining menus and ordering, bill review and check-out accessibility; and a state-of-the-art electronic security entry system. In addition, all guestrooms will feature views of either the Thames River or the scenic New England countryside.

River suites average 872 square feet and feature a spacious bedroom, 1 1/2 baths and separate living room space. The hotel's one-bedroom Sky suites, perfect for intimate cocktail parties, average 1,110 square feet and feature a deluxe king bed, 1 1/2 baths with special windowed-bath overlooking the foothills of southeastern Connecticut, and separate living and dining areas.

Reservations for the hotel's guestrooms and suites can be made by calling 1-888-772-7922. Rates vary based on time of year, and exciting getaway, dining and entertainment packages are also available.

Mohegan Sun, owned by The Mohegan Tribe, is one of the largest,

most distinctive and spectacular gaming and entertainment destinations in the United States. Mohegan Sun opened the Casino of the Earth in 1996 and the exciting, new Casino of the Sky in September 2001. With the expansion, Mohegan Sun offers 315,000 square feet of gaming space, more than 40 new retail shops and dining venues ranging from food court-style to gourmet, a 10,000-seat arena featuring world-class sporting events and concerts, and an intimate cabaret. Mohegan Sun's evolution will continue with the opening of a 34-story luxury hotel, featuring 1,200 hotel rooms, premier meeting and convention space and a world-class spa, in Spring 2002.
