LAS VEGAS, NV -- Rumors are flying back and forth at the possible sale of the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.

California mortgage broker, Mike Yancey, president of Crown Capital Commercial Corporation, hired the New York investment firm of Secure Financial Services, LLC, to announce his interest in buying the Las Vegas Strip property on December 28. They said that Yancey plans to add 1,100 rooms and convention center to the 25-year-old hotel-casino.

But Imperial Palace owner Ralph Englestad and general manager, Ed Crispell, denied knowing anything about the offer.

"I haven't even heard of this company," Crispell said. "This is probably a way for them to raise capital to buy the property. Mr. Englestad will sit down with potential buyers, but there's nothing to this."

It is reported that Englestad is planning on selling his Biloxi, Mississippi property and retiring.

PANAJI, INDIA - Goa Casino, Asia's first live floating, gaming casino will commerce operations this month.

Goa Casino, aboard the 215 feet long The Caravela, is a joint venture between Advani Hotels and Resorts (India) Ltd and Casino Austrlia International.

The ship, named after the first Portuguese ship that went to Goa in the 16th century, has four tables of American roulette, six tables of Blackjack, a table of Paplu (Rummy in India), eight electronic slot machines, and several private gaming rooms.

Built with imported fire-retardant interiors, the ship also houses a restaurant with multi-cultural cuisine, a bar, a barbecue area on the top deck, sundeck entertainment and a swimming pool. Two suites and six rooms are also provided for guests staying overnight.

Besides gaming, the cruise that can accommodate 300 gamers will take them for backwater sightseeing from Vasco harbour to the Renaissance Goa resort at Varca beach and a halt at Grand Island, opposite Vasco City.
