LAS VEGAS - Station Casinos, Inc. announced on November 21 that a joint venture owned by STN and the Greenspun family received a non-restricted gaming license from the Nevada Gaming Commission to own and operate Green Valley Ranch Station Casino in the Henderson/Green Valley area of Las Vegas.

Sam's Town To Host NASCAR 2002

LAS VEGAS - Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall will play host to an action packed weekend as the exciting world of NASCAR returns to Las Vegas in early spring 2002. The exciting competition will take place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Sam's Town 300 NASCAR Busch Series Race on March 2, 2002.

As part of the weekend festivities, Sam's Town also will host the 4th annual NASCAR Drivers Auction at 6 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2002. The wildly popular NASCAR Drivers Auction is the single largest fund-raiser for the Las Vegas chapter of the Speedway Children's Charities, which distributed nearly $200,000 in 2001 to benefit local needy children.

For 2002, the Drivers Auction moves from the Ponderosa Room to Sam's Town Live!, the 1100-seat entertainment complex at the Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall. Many of the Winston Cup and Busch Series' best drivers are again expected to participate in the charity event, which includes both a live and silent auction. Last year, over 30 drivers personally appeared and participated in this most unique event.

This event features a rare opportunity for fans to bid for a chance to meet their favorite Winston Cup driver during the driver introductions and then ride along with them in an open convertible during the pre-race parade lap around the track prior to the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 on Sunday, March 3. Winning bidders on Busch Series competitors will have the opportunity to meet their drivers in the pit area prior to the start of the Sam's Town 300 on Saturday, March 2. The silent auction will feature NASCAR memorabilia and autographed collectibles.

Tickets are $35, benefiting Speedway Children's Charities and are available at Sam's Town Live! box office. In the southern Nevada region, discount coupons will be available on specially marked 2-liter Coca-Cola products. Tickets may be purchased beginning December 10 at 10 am.
